Our School

Welcome to our School

Mengham Infant School is a two form entry maintained school set in extensive grounds which include two playgrounds, a pond/nature area, a trim trail and our own vegetable patch.

We have places for 60 children in each of our three year groups. Our Reception Year group is taught within one unit, with teachers and key workers taking responsibility for the education and welfare of all children. We work in close partnership with all island pre-schools to enable a smooth transition for children starting their school journey with us.

All classes follow a topic based curriculum which covers the objectives set in the 2014 National Curriculum for Years One and Two and the Early Years Curriculum for our Reception children. Our topics are designed to incorporate all  subjects so that pupils can be taught a broad and balanced curriculum within a meaningful and engaging context.

Our recently adopted school values form the basis for our school ethos. We encourage our children and our grown ups to ;

Care

Respect

Persevere

Achieve

Be Independent

These values are displayed and celebrated throughout school as part of our reward and sanction system.

At Mengham Infant School we believe in providing a stimulating and caring environment where expectations are high and which celebrates pupil achievement, both socially and academically. We want all learners to have equal opportunities and to develop a love of learning that will take them on to the next stage of their learning journey with confidence.

We look forward to welcoming you into our school community soon.
